It is said that this initial definition is no longer of value as it depicts health as only the complete physical, mental and social wellbeing of a person and ignores the fact that health is also the absence of disease. It also limits the ability of the human body to cope with the unstable nature of our emotional, social and physical challenges. There are four cardinal areas where health covers; physical health, mental and emotional health, social health and spiritual health. You should note that no area is more important than the other.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines health as the condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit; especially: freedom from physical disease or pain.
